This is a new and exciting experience for me. I have never had a blog before. No, no, it’s true! This is an adventure that is going to take some getting used to, and I’m sure that technical difficulties will abound (at least at first)! Please bear with me, I’m quite sure that I’ll get the hang of it sooner, rather than later!
For my very first post in this cyber forum starring me, I would like to discuss…me! I am a relatively young middle aged woman who has been in the spa industry for 17 years! Yes, yes, I know…17 years is a very long time and in that very long time, I have had the opportunity to work in and visit some very fine spas. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that each spa is different…different decor, different vibe, different treatments, different staff, different amenities. Those differences are what make spa going so much fun, and so intimidating. This is where my experience and expertise come in! My goal is to educate all of you fine readers, so that when you come to my fabulous city with the intent of visiting one of our many fabulous, world-class spas, you can be better prepared based on my observations and experiences. I would also like to offer some direction for the less experienced spa-goer…a “how to” guide if you will, on spa etiquette, the employee’s perspective, and an occasional amusing anecdote that may make you laugh, cry, or shake your head as you think, “what are people THINKING?!”
So, back to me! I love, love, love my job. I love the spa environment, I love the smell of the spa, and I love the energy in the spa! I love the peacefulness you feel when you know that cell phones are turned off, and the only thing you need to worry about is whether to get the facial or the massage. I love my children, but I love getting away for a few hours to have ME time. So, I guess what I’m saying is that I hope that you will enjoy my blog because spa life IS my life and my passion! Please feel free to ask questions, post requests for different spa reviews, or share wonderful (or terrible) spa experiences. MY first review will be Tuesday, the 26th. I have a fabulous girls day out planned and I’m sure it will be wonderful!
